    fleximix tray and plugs...SUCCESS!!!

Hey all, been away for awhile, but I thought I would share our success with you all. Some of you probably already use this stuff but hey here we go....
Last year we had a terrible run with clones and plants in general. We tried almost everything til our local hydro shop suggested and gave us a bag of these hydrogarden plugs for a trial ( we spent a shite load there over a period of time).
to start of with we moved our clone room into the house where temperatures would be more stable. We then purchased a propagation room with a heated pad for $99. I made a mix of 1 litre of water and added a couple of drops of oxyplus, 2 mls of budlink, 2 mls of alaska pure and just a couple of drops of superthrive and ph tested the water 5.8-6.3. We did the usual lbed of perlite in the propagation tray and put the water in the tray beneath it. Put our pre-cut babies in the plugs, chucked the lid on, made sure all the flaps on the cover were shut to increase humidity, lowered the light, closed the door and wait to see what happened.
We had 12 babies in there and all grew legs....IN 4 DAYS!!! yes thats right in 4 days. I was stunned, not only 100% strike rate but in half the time we were told ie 8 days usually.
All I can say is these hydro garden plugs or rapid rooting plugs sure as hell work. If you are not using them give em a go, no more rock wool for us....

Good job, but most of that crap you are throwing at the clones is unnecessary and if overused, potentially harmful. Were I you, I'd try a side by side without all that stuff. Likely you can have success without the expense of the unnecessaries. All I've ever used is Schultz Rooting Hormone, and it has never failed me. 4-6 days isn't abnormal at all. Especially if enviornmental factors have been optimized. (temps, humidity, soil moisture control, air circulation...)

Peat-based grows require a ph between 6.3 and 6.8ish. (peat pucks included) Right now all they need is the moisture in the soil. This is a good thing for you, as the lower ph will eventually lock-out the uptake of nutrients. The idea is to grow roots, not the foliage. And why are you using a flowering nutrient to promote roots? Chemical oxygen isn't a benefit. Actually, thinking it over, I'm kinda surprised you've had such success.

hey Rusty thanks for your input. We are still relatively new and had some instructions regarding this however I think you are correct, the next batch im going to do is simply with oxyplus and budlink, thats all. As you say we will probably have the same success. Never too old to learn so any info, especially from the more experienced is well received.
My only point in this post was these plugs....wouldnt use rockwool unless stuck for supplies.

I never have used Rockwool, and I never did have success with the peat pucks, but haven't tried for many years. I do know that you are supposed to rinse the Rockwool cubes well, with properly ph'd water prior to use. But if you can do peat pucks with success, there's no reason you can't fill a seedling tray or a seedling cup (the black ones are usually free at the nursery) with potting mix, dip the clone, and get the same result. (for much cheaper)
