you might wanna get a MH conversion bulb, it will make them grow more bushy and grow alot faster. E-mail me at [email protected] if you want one. But other than that, the plants look good
. Peace

These are what day 28?
Somethings not right. I count 5 sets of leaves.
At 28 days, they should be much further along.
I think too, you should switch to a whiter light.
Barely any secondary growth...looks very dry....and the light appears to be HPS....
These babies aren't getting enough white/blue light in my opinion.
I would really advise diff lights. You should be growing a new set of leaves per day at this stage. They appear healthy but too slow growing.
I would never top my plant either...personally. It may take a week or two for that plant to recover. Please keep us posted.

Topping produces more THC?

Of course those plants could still be topped, but I think topping can be PREVENTED by having more light.
Your plants are very healthy, but the internodal length is exagerated. I think you need more white / blue light and topping won't need to be an option.
Yes some plants need to be tooped and yours appear to be candidates. But you CAN prevent this if you put out more white light on them.
Again, very healthy plants.
HAPPY GROWING
