best stores in the portland metro area?I'm curious about this too! The only grow shops I have been to are Northern Light and Garden, then another hydro resale shop. Northern Light and Garden pretty much had everything you could ask for.

I'm curious about more general nurseries and gardening supply stores, though.

best stores in the portland metro area?I like Everybody's Garden Center on Clinton in SE... but if they know you grow they will not help you which makes getting any help from them a little tricky.
For general gardning I adore the Portland Nursery on SE Division, it focuses more on indoor plants and shaderooms than their Stark street location.
I long for the day licnesed growers can walk into a gardening shop and get real advice on which products they offer are the best for what. Not that I mind doing my own research, just would be nice to go in and talk to a real person who sells the stuff and talks to other growers in the area baout what works for them and what doesn't.

best stores in the portland metro area?I have found I like American Agriculture in Beaverton for the most useful advice and reasonable prices. They seem more than willing to talk, I just don't say what I'm growing. Seems simple enough, as they know, especially when I say something like, "Help, I'm 5 weeks from harvest and I think I have spider mites!" Good people there. They have a store in SE Portland, but I don't feel as comfortable there.

best stores in the portland metro area?Northern Light & Grdn will always come thru with the lowest prices. Most stores put all their effort into matching (but not beating) competitors prices - and thus the customer is cheated out of what's most important - SERVICE. Just my opinion. But I'm referring to what I've seen, not what I've heard. What I really mean to say is not that they'll necessarily beat others in pricing, they just don't obsess and forget about actually being helpful.
