molasses sludge in RES

Ever since I started using molasses in my RES I get a nasty sludge the next day.
Should I just go back to using sweet?
I would really like to start using molasses. Anyone have any luck using it in a res without sludge?

I would go back to sweet.

We have had problems with cyanobacteria and went to beneficial bacteria to help the problem. Well a few nights ago we were going to add just a little molasses and put toooo much in. The next day it was a mess of slug and crap and the cyano had come back in big bags of snot hanging on the roots in the water.

I know alot of people use it but save yourself the trouble.
