GI Doctor Referral
I have suffered with IBS/GERD for about 10 years now and for about 2 years, on and off, I have been using marijuana as a treatment for the different symptoms that they present. A few hits relieves my esophageal reflux in seconds and relieves pain and cramps from my spasmodic colon in just a few minutes.
I have spoken with my current primary doctor, but as I haven't been her patient for very long, I am reluctant to consult her about medical marijuana. She has tried a few things that have had limited success, but has now instructed me to consult a GI specialist.
If there are any doctors on here or anyone with a recommendation, I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Untreated GERD can lead to some serious medical problems and are best treated with medications such as H2-blockers (Zantac, Pepcid) or Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs). These drugs help to reduce the acid which is the primary problem. Definitely see your doctor for the GERD.
Hope that helps! I'm looking into opening a clinic in Providence soon.

Thanks,
I have seen my Dr about both. I am currently tying out a PPI with limited success for the GERD. It's reduced indigestion, but on ocassion i am unable to swallow food. It feels as though it's stuck in my lower esophagus. When using cannabis, my ability to swallow is almost immediately returned.
It also helps to reduce pain induced by IBS as well as regulating and normalizing bowel movements.
Are you currently a Dr. in RI or are you from somewhere like THCF?
Please message me if you are a practicing Dr in RI so that I may schedule an appointment. Otherwise, Please let me know where I can look for progress on a clinic.
Thanks a bunch!
