Could you imagine if a retail store or car dealership was unable to open a business account in America?

This is exactly what is happening to medical marijuana dispensaries in Colorado. Findmypot.com recently reported that TCF Bank is planning on closing all dispensary bank accounts and would not open further accounts. Ouch!

TCF Bank had representatives at the Medical Marijuana Business Alliance meeting promoting their support of the medical marijuana industry on April 15th. I guess this event was too successful and they were overwhelmed with demand for new accounts? Sorry weâ??re sold out of accounts!

There have been similar situations in the merchant card industry that processes credit cards for dispensaries. These businesses enter the market, and then realize they need to get out of the market expeditiously. It makes you wonder how much research is done prior to providing business services to the medical marijuana industry.

It makes me wonder what moral or political group is pressuring businesses to refuse services to MMJ businesses.
