    Advantages to banannas

interestingly Rusty, none of my other species had any issues during the same grow period, so I have to assume it was the genetics, as everything else was/is fine.

Just appalled at the lack of trichomes on the one I just took out, was amber. I would venture to say it had - at best - only 5% of my usual trichome load. A huge difference. I am assuming this will only be good for canna oil at this point if that.

Had the same probs with the genetics you mention from them too, not just one of their species, this was the only one that made it to harvest - if you can call it harvest.

I did manage to get pollen off them, but I guess by now it is no good any more from what the thread shows.

as i said in another thread, i cant see what the big issue is if a plant herms, especially when and if its good bud. as much as seeds cost, especially herm seeds. it used to be years ago when you bought regular street level pot, it was rare to find actual seedless pot. i remeber years ago, i used to throw my seeds in a quart mason jar we would get so many, and after it was full we would have this lady down the street make us all kinds of god shit, such as ointment, ect. hell, she even had a way to make hempseed chapstik that worked much better than any of the crap you can buy today. if you have a great strain you like, why would you object to a few seeds? especially when they are hermed and you know your gonna get female plants out of them. ive had friends call me jumping up and down with joy just finding a couple of seeds in their weed!

if you have a plant that herms, watch it closely and make sure its in a controlled enviroment, either collect the pollen and seed a branch or two on another plant ( those small wispy lower branches work great for that) or let it seed your whole plant. heck ive got a elephant purple that i sprayed with collidial silver spray that was just starting to bud, and the sucker literally turned into a 80% male plant. no problem though as i love to get hermed plants, especially if its good stuff.

for years, thats how we took the "elite clone only" strains and got seeds. we had purple kush, grandaddy purple and ALOT of others seeds within 3 months of the strains hitting the streets.

sorry guys but i just never could understand spending hundreds of bucks on seeds when its so easy to make your own. ive only attempted to "buy" seeds twice, and both times i got fucked on the deal. once by the sponsor here, and another time by nirvana of all people. i didnt get my seeds, and when i contacted them, they sad they wuld send me HALF of my order as a replacement, and i never saw that order either. i eve emailed the shit out of them wondering if it was shipped and never got one single response. i wouldnt recommend them to my worst enemy.

Seeds cost you dearly in yield. Not only in that plant, but all that are in or near the same room.
The covering (calyx) tastes like crap, seeds are inconvienent, (especially when smoking it in the quantities that us med patients do) and consistently using those seeds to breed...you are degrading the genetic diversity of the plants wiich can cause problems from inability to fend-off infections and stress, to degraded psychotropic effects.

Since this is a medical cannabis site, I'll put it this way...
Some folks have very limited time or energy to invest in an all-encompasing chore, like growing their own meds. To some, any technique or process that makes this an easier task, is well worth the money. Frankly, most of us would rather grow a little bit of quality, than a shitload of crap.

Since this is a learning process, and there's no daytime TV shows helping homebound folks through this process, we do what we can. That's why this site is so important. It's the best place on the web where us medical users can come to learn, without the judgemental attitudes from pre-pubescent kids acting like they are the most important thing online, with the most up-to-date misconceptions currently available. I've been there and done that...and am unimpressed with those multi-activity sites. Not a conservatives cup of tea, ya know...?

Anyway, if you don't care about your efforts being wasted on unusable seeds of crappy genetics, let 'em grow. But you'll eventually pay the price.

You're not selling that (hermies are good) crap to medical users, are you? :wtf:

(for their prices, the seeds should jump into the soil, water themselves, and have a red pop-up timer thing when ready for harvest)

    That did bring a smile.

Since you are a fellow washingtonian and medical marijuana patient, i was wondering if somehow I could donate some of the pollen to you. At some point I may have to stop growing and I would hate to lose something I have cherished for a long time. If you used the pollen I have a strong feeling that it would bring a strong Purple influence.

Hey cool. Another washingtonian. I am also across from Portland in the couve. Im just underway with my first ever grow. I have 10 different strains given to me as clones. Not the best way to learn with all different strains but they are all lookin great sofar.

    I have white widow
    Purple earkle
    Snowdog
    Sour Diesel
    Mendo Purp
    Blueberry
    Super Silver Haze
    Sheba
    Blue Cheeze
    and Strawberry Cough
One of the guys at the portland cannabis college gave me a clone of each.

Nice to see some people close by

    Good weekend to ya people
