Unfortunately, I'd say that about 50% of the people currently growing it haven't a clue as to what they are doing, and get these small, spindly nuggets, that don't even yield very well. Personally, the SAGE is one of the best yielders I have ever seen in my life and has been known to kick down over 3lbs per 1000w light on MANY occasions.....2.5 is about average among my friends.
The key(s) is lots of supercropping in veg, lots of topping, lots of bending, lots of pinching, get it wider than it is tall, and then flip it under a SCROG...Also, you gotta give it lots off runoff and lots of air flow (as with any strain)....I water my 5 gallon soil buckets with 3 gallons of water or food every watering....Also, lots of people who use dirt aren't letting their soil dry completely out before they water again....That shit should be bone dry.....If not, you are gonna cause a lack of oxygen in the roots, and cause root rot, making it hard for your plants to take anything up, and creating tiny little buds, but of good quality......If you really ever wanna get the yields that you hear people talking about in dirt (2-3 lbs per light), you HAVE to have serious runoff, serious airflow, very wide plants, and utilize a screen, especially for long flowering strains.....and again, let that dirt get so dry that it's almost to the point of wilting before you water it...
I could go on forever, and when I tell people about these yields on certain strains in dirt, in the scrog, alot of people think I am lying to them.....I just promise that I have no reason to lie to anyone, especially some people online who I don't even know.....I am just trying to (A) Spread some of the information I have obtained over the years and (B) hoping to see more SAGE that is truly representative of the strain and the way it was meant to be grown.....Call that selfish, but it's the alternative to hoarding a strain, which is a practice that I am not fond of, but can see in today's current market why people are doing it......Sometimes I wish I'd never given this strain to anyone and had it exclusively, but I really prefer to share and let everyone enjoy something that I enjoy.

Hope some of this helped someone somewhere.

Peace
