What to do after the passing of HB 1284 this morning?
I was watching it here: YouTube - COMarijuana's Channel
I saw most of the later parts earlier in the day, but didn't take notes, so I'll probably give them a quick listen tomorrow. My notes are full of sarcastic comments, mostly aimed at Romer and Spence, who were in fine form early in the hearing. I'll clean it up a bit for the post, but I'll have a basic guide with info about who proposed and/or argued for what so people can figure out who they want to support when it's election season. I was interested to see Republicans speaking on behalf of some of Senator Carroll's amendments based on the Constitutional and legal precedent-based arguments she was making... MMJ makes strange bedfellows I guess.
As an aside, it's hilarious to hear all the mumbling that occurs after certain comments... I was listening on headphones so I picked up all of it. Every time Senator Spence dropped her "I don't support organized crime" line, the crowd audibly tittered as if it were her catchphrase.
It was also funny (not "ha ha") to hear Romer constantly refer to some unnamed news reporter who apparently was able to buy marijuana at 5 of 7 dispensaries without showing any kind of paperwork, then referring to them as "knuckleheads" about 30 different times. I called bullshit on that in the first place, but did anyone else hear about this? I figure it was some typical embellished local news scare story that I missed (since I don't watch that gahbage) if it even exists at all.
Seems like bullshit to me, it just doesn't pass the smell test -- unless I've been into a dispensary multiple times, they at least ask for an ID and then check my paperwork on file and/or have me sign a "ckeck in" type of form. Never have I been able to buy anything (or even look at meds or enter the area since Denver passed their regulations) without showing my doc's recommendation and state application as well as an ID.

This is the first I'm hearing of this reporter. I, like you, don't pay attention the "news" anymore cause it's all crap. Beyond that, I'm boycotting Westword and their advertisers because of crap just like this. I told everyone they were going to sell us out and I think they have.
Yes, marginalization is a very effective tactic which is why our modern day law enforcement/government use it so frequently. Hey we're just "very low income, pot heads who aren't likely to vote anyway" Or are we?!
Yes, any disp that wishes to stay in business for any amount of time MUST check paperwork/ID. Sadly, there are people who are in it just and only for the money. It is they whom we need to remove from operation and keep the ones who know what they're doing and do it for the medicine/science of it and if they turn a profit in doing so who cares. Pfizer bilks billions in profit every year from us while selling us drugs. Lets choose to be educated consumers/patients and use meds that are FAR less addictive than the likes of, in my case, Dilaudid during the worst times. I do think that Romer's claim is more smoke than fire. The government has had a long history of giving the people mis/disinformation to inflict their will on and I don't think this is much different. The "say anything; do anything" attitude is vividly clear.
As I have said many times and Iâ??ll say many more timesâ?¦this is wrong and people will die because of this bill!
It just amazes me the amount of "lazy pot heads" we get out at meetings of the government. If we didn't have such a close-knit community and great leadership; we wouldn't be anywhere near where we are now! Together we stand and devided we fall.
Right, well I've been ranting all day between the gov't and the msg boards so I think it's time for me to go pass out too.
 Keep up the fight!
Never give up, never surrender,

I am all in favor of using technology. I just created my own facebook page regarding the 5/15 march and have sent invitations to all that might have interest.
I also know I am not the only female among us so I would also like to recommend the Womens Marijuana Movement. I got the link from SAFER and Jessica Corry is the founder. The more people we include the better off we are.

Also, I heard someone mention above that they were talking about marijuana as a "gateway drug" today. They are the ones that make it a gateway drug. They put marijuana in the same category as cocaine and heroin. They teach the children that all drugs are "bad" with no differentiation... marijuana will ruin your lives and so will coke and smack. But then the kids smoke it and see that it's harmless and now they realize that they were taught lies about drugs. Now they're more likely to try hard shit not realizing the true dangers because they've been lied to. These fuckin' drug warriors don't realize that their own lies aren't serving them..

I have to make a small tweek to part of your post if I may...
That is, there are SO many of US who could make a difference. Its odd how one person can do so little but yet have such a big impact.
