What to do after the passing of HB 1284 this morning?

Ugh I gotta plow my way through this hearing video tonight still... dunno if I can deal with looking at Romer's smug face while he cracks jokes on our tax dime again. Gotta get some headphones and settle in after Ultimate Fighter though ha.. It's like re-living a nightmare listening to these legislators who know so little about the industry rambling on and trying their damndest to ram this through before the session ends...

Yeah theres something to be said for "State Sponsored" Tyranny.

Someone said someplace "yeah we need to vote these people out" but the problem with that is that for every one you get rid of there are 100 more just waiting for a seat in the Nazi chair.

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for taking time to talk to me. Here are the figures I worry about. Keep in mind that they want to take Marijuana growing out of the hands of people who know what they are doing and put it into the hands of high morons who don't! While Iâ??m not a grower; I do know the basics of growing should you need information on the process. I, also, have an opinion of why they are trying to pass HB 1284 should you like that as well.

No one really heard how many people are on the Marijuana Registry right now so I have to give you three sets and one worse than the other. These are bare minimum figures. You could easly tack on 2%-3% margin of error.

If there are 24,000 people on the registry right now that would figure down to:

    144,000 Plants
    4,800 Caregivers/Individual Grows

If there are 100,000 people on the registry:

    That adds up to:
    600,000 plants
    20,000 Caregivers/Individual Grows

    124,000 People on the registry:

    744,000 Plants
    24,000 Caregivers/Individual Grows

These Numbers don't include the 58,000 person backlog at the CDPHE who are still waiting to be legal. Those numbers are on top of the above numbers and break down to:

    348,000 Plants
    11,600 Caregivers/Individual Grows.

Now, sir, I'm not a Firefighter. The only thing I know about Firefighting is what a roommate of 6 months taught me (call 911). It seems to me that when you take a skilled trade like growing Marijuana out of the hands of the people who know how to do it and put it in the hands of people who don't, you're going to see a spike in the amount of grow fires.

Speaking of growing, the above numbers will only grow as the registry grows.

Please join me in being very worried. Yes, we must have regulation but not at the expense of the people.

    Thankfully,

    - just
so what you are saying then is you are not in favor of caregivers? only dispensaries? i have to just say i have been on canna boards all over for awhile now and these are all people that grow for the most part.it's very rare that i hear about a fire.more rare than space heater fires in winter.ofcorse if someone does'nt know what they are doing then they should stay away from it.but to say caregivers are a bad thing is like saying space heaters are bad should we ban them as well?

see when you have someone that hates what you are doing in the first place and you make a bill to where it points out who everone is as a patient.that gives them a rader to work with.umm sir you need to let us in to ck all electric.umm well this is all correct and safe but we have to write you a ticket because 1 we don't like you 2 you did pay out your ass to have these lights wired.oh and since we are here umm we don't like the way you raise your kids being that we don't like you because you grow we think it is not good to have kids if you grow.even tho everything is locked up tight as a drum and all and you are doing everything safe.

oh your a hunter too>? umm we don't believe you should be able to own a gun and grow too.it's against the law to have guns with a controlled substance.oh you homeschool your kids? umm your gow is to close to a school zone then + your evil if you don't want your kids brainwashed by whats taught in schools these days.

see how the door is opened over a bogus "anyone that grows in a small space is at great risk of fire"what bs. we better get to banning all the gas stoves out there too while were at it.

so leo should be able to just run through your house anytime they plz just because you grow in your house? what about all the veggie growers that have been running inhouse grows should they be stopped to? you would think with the numbers you are trying to push.that there would already be alot more fires reported in the country? do you really think all the growers out here just started? most of us have been doing this for awhile now.now im sure there are a few that just started most of which use a small setup 250w to 600w.

if i knew i was gunna have to give up all my rights i would have just stayed underground..and guess what no fires....wow

btw the with the 70/30 thing guess what say bye bye to all those strains you can choose from.you really think all these dispensaries grow most of what they have 30,40,50 diffrent strains lmao?they depend on the small guy just as much as the small guy depends on them.

What to do after the passing of HB 1284 this morning?

If you agree with this last effort, pass this on immediately.

If your happy with this desecration of our constitution for greed....delete it!

VETO March on the Governors Mansion
Gather at the Civic Center Park 5-15 @ 11 AM
If we can gather a large assembly of people, 1000 or more we will walk to the Governor's Mansion. If only a few show up, we can just demonstrate along Broadway St. across from the Capitol. This is a Constitutional Right to Assemble for a VETO March!

As a Nationally Certified alternative care Naturopath, Master Herbalist, Homeopath and Holistic Nutritional consultant trained in degenerative disease and maintaining wellness for 33 years, I am appalled at the disregard
of the voice of the people to the Legislators and Senators of this state concerning HB10-1284 and SB10-109

I am pleading with everyone to call, email and fax letters to the Capitol. HB10-1284 must be stopped. Amendment 20, Article XVlll, section 14 of the Colorado constitution was trampled on by the large majority of ELECTED Officials today at the Capitol. If you are a caregiver that is not a dispensary, L.140 amendment holds you to NO more than 30 plants TOTAL for your 5 patients. Only a dispensary will be able to provide the needed access of additional medicine. I have been in support of a dispensary model, however this is over the top!

It was also very insulting to the patients of Colorado with degenerative illnesses to listen to the puns and jokes out of Romer's mouth, he even made a joke about the senators with MMJ licenses.......This was to insinuate why they were not supportive of this bill. Romer referred to more than 50% of dispensary owners are Thugs. Spence said she doesn't support organized crime, insinuating that the dispensaries that will be put out of business are the ones with organized crime money.

There will be a 3rd reading of this bill. This session is over next week!

Do Not Waste Time.........call, fax and email. This is an ELECTION YEAR Let them know if you are their constituent, tell them you are paying attention to the votes and you want them to VOTE NO on the 3rd reading!!!

If this does not get their attention, all we have left is to PICKETT the Governor's mansion!!!
Let's set a date of May 15th to organize at the Civic Center Park at 11 am. Bring Large VETO Signs with the bill numbers on them, bring every ADULT you can round up and let's walk from the park to the Governor's mansion and have a peaceful public gathering to send the Governor a loud and clear message!!!

We must mount an army of people for this. A few hundred to show up is not acceptable, we need a thousand or more to get his attention!!!

I hope that everyone will go into the voting booths in NOVEMBER and VOTE NO on every Legislator and Senator that VOTED on these bills passage to allow a monopoly to the large dispensaries and blatantly walked all over our constitutional rights!!!

    Sincerely,
    Kimberly Matteo, N.D., M.H.

it's the guys with big money to pay these fees that are the organized crime people not the lil guy. this is something nobody has brought up either so i will.this will hurt that small guy that can't work no more because of degenerative disease and so on that is in to much pain everyday to really be able to work a job to pay bills.guys like this can tend a small grow and use what they need and sell the rest to the shops to sustain him through the next grow.this was a perfect thing to help keep them alive in many ways from meds to bills.this will directly hurt these people the most.this is the wrong thing to do for many reasons.im on the same page as g/m.and i have always thought like this not just now.

NO! I'm not saying that. I'm saying I'm worried about the amount of people who will get into it whether or not they "should." The allure of money is pretty strong in this economy.

Accidents happen. People who arn't trained in setting up a proper MMJ grow WILL cause fires and loss of life. It's going to happen.

Give this to the people who know what they're doing and have the money to do it properly. Let them set up industrial grows where everything around the grow can be tightly controlled like fire suppression, security, ect. Attic grows will ONLY lead to a drastic increase in structure fires throughout Colorado just like in Mendocino County California. Then, they'd come back and say "see? We told you we needed to more tightly regulate this...look at all the fires!"

The fact that 100k people will need a caregiver will lead to a 20k person caregiver force growing meds in, on, and around their home...it will lead to fires.

    That is my only point.

I will send this out to my few patients now and hopefully they will all be available to protest, some of their conditions make it hard to come out and protest though. We need young individuals protesting as well, just don't show up in a bob marly t-shirt and have dreads, it could send the wrong message unfortunately. My family and I will be there to protest no matter what. You all have my word on that!

Justabloke- Patients have the right to grow anyways, theres TONS of patient grows that are half assed and probably plenty with electrical hazards. Point is I don't see anywhere on the news stories about mmj fires. I have temperature alarms and monitor my grow closely. I take it really seriously, I couldn't do it all myself though. I have a monitor with me in the house where I can see the enviroment settings at all times. Not to mention I had an electrician do the little wiring needed and I have two fire extinguishers on hand. I never leave my grow unattended. The novices out there that have fire hazards in their house wont be able to compete with real caregivers, producing real quality meds. The fire hazards won't stay up and running long enough to even create a fire. I don't see it being nearly as big of a concern as you do.

Wow, this Romer guy is a total dick. I just saw some video of him and he's such a condescending asshole. It doesn't seem right that you can craft a bill to just drive a ton of people out of business!
Well I've had no faith in politics for a long time so it doesn't surprise me. I'm glad I can still smoke and I'm going to have to do some networking with people before they slip back underground!!

One thing that I have to ask... I saw some mention that somehow the registry will become less than confidential after this bill. Is that true for regular patients who don't register as a caregiver or anything? Will your name now be available for law enforcement to view at whim?? Please tell me this isn't true?
