I have a few that age and there about the same size. You might want to clear all the growth around your plant out. The bugs are bad and snails worse this year for me. But the less growth around them the better the plant will use the nutes/ferts and not the weeds. Also, if your getting rain a lot, use the ferts every time it rains as the ferts will be washed down into your roots, just where ya want them. Then if it rains again, give more ferts. Its rained so much that i haven't gave just plain water all year. But, its raining a lot, so after every rain, i shoot the ferts and my plants are growing great.
