Drill Baby Drill??? Where are all the drilling supporters

The 2 chief douchebags of the GOP (Palin/Steele) are strangely silent on the biggest oil spill since Alaska.

I'm sure the teabaggers here will explain away the damage and justify raping the earth.

Voting GOP this year is like giving the keys back to the drunk driver that wrecked the economy when they show no remorse for their actions and haven\'t even sobered up yet.

Sure is. Sometimes I have my head up my ass. Sometimes you do. Now we have the insults out of the way answer the question.

Drill Baby Drill. How is that working out for you? Why are your leaders silent on this?

I was too flip about this disaster. And It was my mistake. 11 men dead. And untold damage done. While I wouldn't wish this on anyone, It is something you built an election platform on. It was your slogan, remember the screaming crowds? and the easy fix for one of our problems.

    Now what?

Will you just forget? This isn't the first blowout in our waters. It is the biggest though. We have approved drilling where we do not have the knowhow to fix a blowout. Does that strike you as smart?

And I find it ironic that states that depend on oil now have to clean it up. After all this is said and done will it be worth it?

i never get how people on these forums go str8 to assumptions.why is everything you just said aim'd at me? saying things like it was your slogan, how is that working out for ya?i don't recall telling you i was an oil driller?oh i know that was an insult to the reps? sorry to say i have never voted in my life i think anyone that thinks either party is better than the other are just as crazy as both parties in office. but since we"this thread" are going that route i do recall obama saying all we needed to do was pump up our tires.he was against anymore drilling so he said.then a few weeks back i do recall him pushing for more drilling in the gulf.so you might want to aim that sarcasm towards the flip flop king?let me guess it's a ok if he is now for it but no one else?

also do you drive? do you live in a cave and eat only plants? yea again thought so.i do believe thats being a hypocrite in a way no?how can someone talk down about something as if it's a bad thing yet use said product everyday??

Why is everything aimed at you? Dude, nobody put a gun to your head and made you jump into this thread. And I don't recall asking if you are a driller. You assume too much.

As for not voting, that is you mistake. Even if your vote cancels mine, fine. That tells me either you are young, and have yet to vote, or you don't give a shit.

As for my personal energy use I live in a house, drive a small car and without giving out too much info about myself generate 60% of my own electricity. I grow some of my own food. I also hunt and fish. This island is loaded with food. Just need to know where to look.

And I am not a tree hugger. I am just cheap.

Since you are not a teabagger nutjob, I am sorry that I assumed you were. My deepest appoligies.

no im def old enought o vote but they are all corrupt so why would i pick any?you never see a common guy even get past applying to run for office.if you think your vote counts oh well thats on you.

ok so if you use oil on a every day basis then how can you look down your nose at drilling? i could see if you did'nt use any but you do.

if not oil then you tell me what?i already know all the other fuel sources.but what is the issue for real? hurting the earth? or more the price of it?you think if they stopped oil and used another source it would be any better or cheaper?there is a carbon tax in the works as we speak.maybe you like that?

Renember Florida? Entire presidential election rode on 200 or so votes. So please don't tell me my vote is worthless. I will grant you, almost always, you are right. My vote means nothing. But you will never know. Until it's too late.

Though I use oil, With a smaller then normal footprint. I am guilty as charged. If I last 30 more years, Hawaii will have cut our oil use by half. This place is loaded with energy. There is no oil around us. To get oil to us a tanker must move the oil at least 3000 miles. Maui produces almost 20% of its own power right now. From wind and burning the trash from sugar production.

And you assume I am against all drilling. That's wrong. My gripe is if we do not have the a way to cap a blowout at 5000 ft we should not be drilling there.

This thread is a way to taunt the political party that thinks we can drill our way out of our energy problems. Besides you (not affiliated with said party) not one of out resident teabaggers made a sound.

The issue for me is price. Both long and short term. We pay 35 cents a kw/hr here. Maui electric pays the windmill owners 22 cents kw/hr. Right there is your cheaper power. Geothermal costs less than that. And Geo is firm power. We have them all, but we don't want to spend the money to link all the islands into one grid (instead of the six we currently have). Until that is done we will go nowhere.

So yes, in my opinion there is a better way. We just haven't got there yet. And yes, A carbon tax would move us along, to where we need to be, quicker
Bet ya I get flamed for that.

Smoke a fatty and have a good day.

Well, since BP never thought they'd never have any spill and never considered how to cap a well 1 MILE DEEP we have unlimited oil spilling for 2 months minimum in one of the most productive marine fisheries in the US.

Still the teabaggers whine that since I have a vehicle it's my fault but not the oil companies that have no plan and profit from not fixing it.
