Start seeds in a seed starting tray,after the roots have established themselves move them to the next size container up do not skip to large containers right away because you could develop root disease.Patience is a virtue.there are 3 types of fertilizers organic,chemical,hydro-organic.Look for a fertilizer with n-p-k and trace minerals you want one high in (n) for vegetating plants and high in (p)for flowering plants organics are best,chemical is easiest,hydro-organics are a great compromise but multi-part and a little pricey.You must check and adjust the ph of most nutrients- a meter works,or get a ph test kit from a hydro store, if your not going to, just quit now.ok so you have a good strain, good medium,good light,decent fertilizer,ph adjusted.Now watering is tricky, over water -death, underwater -death see? tricky A moisture meter is your best friend if you are new. They are cheap and easy to use.Get one and use it!!! Don't think you know-verify. Follow instuctions on fertilizer well. More is not better you will cause a salt build up in your medium and make the nutrients unavailable to the plants. If you are growing in a greenhouse the plants are going to flower when the natural sunlight reaches 12 hours of darkness -you have no control.If you grow sativa instead of indica they will flower when chronologically predisposed to.Small details-- humidity should be between 40%and60% temperature should stay between 70 and 85 degrees unless adding co2 in which case it can go as high as 90 degrees. Plants breathe co2 like we breathe oxygen so you can supplement it in a variety of ways find out which works best for you.Co2 naturally occurs at about 200 ppm plants can use about1200 ppm so there is room to add it.It will help you get bigger palnts faster,and helps with hardiness--more disease resistant,heat tolerant.Now that should help you get a good start if you follow the basic guide line. Do not use tin foil it reflects back unevenly and creates hotspots which will burn the plants in places.If you need more advice post another thread and I'll reply or whatever I love this whole game,activism,growing,politcs,I have been doing this for 16 years I started when I was 19 and I just like to be involved.
