World is Flat; the majority of the scientific community agreed that the Earth was not flat. Yet many people, usually the conservative religious types, argued that scientific evidence was not conclusive.

Global Warming; the majority of the scientific community agree that Global Warming IS REAL. Yet many people, usually the conservative religious types, argue that scientific evidence is not conclusive.

In both cases one opinion is driven by scientific consensus and one is driven by ignorance.

Personally, I would rather listen to the scientific community than the GOP since theyre greatest mind at the moment appears to be Sarah Palin.
