well theres only a week left till these girls come down. 5 of the 6 are yellow and one still has all green so it might go a lil longer. but all in all cant wait to taste this harvest(they smell "fruity" and delicious right now it makes me
everytime i check on them) since alot of major improvements been done since the last harvest. what makes me even more happier is knowing that they still have room for improvement with the following harvest and im alot closer to being 100% dialed in with a method thats bulletproof. next harvest ill watch the ph and ill be using a better soil mix with even more % of perlite and such for even greater drainage then the mix im using now with only perlite(i used it to sparingly). well ill probly update 2moro with some more pics, this time ill take them under normal lighting so tht the hps dont fuck with the quality.

They look like they want bigger pots.

yea man your yield will improve much more if you give the roots more room to grow.

im thinkn they were just stressed. the leaves were curled a lil bit for some time and i also noticed the leaves fringing up for awhile. very slow drainage leads me to believe that the roots were suffering lack of oxygen. and posibly salt buildup, but they never showed signs of nute burn, so im thinking ph was way off(i hadnt been watching it, gona go get a ph meter for the next batch.). and who knows maybe my digital thermometer/Digital humidity isnt acurate, it was only $5 :stoned:, so i might get a better one or just get atleast one more to cross check its acuracy.
i should be fine in these 1.5G, my friend uses these as well and he grows them to about 4' and gets a huge quantity off em. im using the hps for veg too and was only letting them get to about 1.5' before i switched them to 12/12, they stretched alot once i switched them. so im gona let the next batch get atleast 3' before i switch them.
, keep an eye on the ph levels this time, and add way more perlite since i was using it way too conservatively and not adding much:stoned:. we will see.

Wow 4' in a 1 1/2 gallon bucket? And here I was worried that my 3 gallon buckets might not be big enough... Move up to a bigger pot and I guarantee you won't be disappointed with the results. Furthermore, those do sound like pH issue. pH is difficult to control when the pot is too small for the plant. You will face sings up and down and eventually you will face lockout. Anyway, it will be interesting to watch. I hope you prove me wrong!

i used to think that it would take more then a 1.5G pot too, i started growing in 5G buckets but when i seen my friend using 1.5G pots and producing high quality and high quantity per plant, i said screw wasting the money on extra soil when you dont need it. yes 4' (giver er take) and he grows purple kush, ak47, blueberry, and a random indica, all which turn out very high quality and realy large buds. he uses a 400W MH and a 400W HPS tho for vegin and flowering in one tent.
so i know as long as ALL the conditions are right(hence why im sure its PH issue), these 1.5G pots are just fine for small trees. 5G buckets are for the outdoor plants.
real "treees"

That's all good information. I wonder if the smaller pots give you less room for error? That would be my guess and makes sense from what you are saying - so long as you dial it in properly and run a tight grow it is doable. Seems you would leave yourself vulnerable to pH issues and salt buildup. I saw a thread where a few growers challenged to see who could grow the most weight in a 16" party cup. As I recall the winner pulled out a bit more than an ounce. I'll be watching.

i used dolomite lime in the soil, but i was afraid to add to much, so i dont think i even added enough to make a difference. supposed to not allow the ph to go above 6.5, but i didnt grind into enough into powder either when i added it in. so it might have released it to strong in one area and damaged my roots, causing lock out, which woulda made salt build up and effect my ph. ill have to look at the roots and see.

i saw that grow too, i laughed when i saw a plant LSTd in a "party cup"
