Here's my 2 cents - your parents are actually trying to help. I doubt they are really as bad as you say, you just may have been venting or whatever. And I know it sucks and its bull shit, but if you dress up in all black, tons of piercings, etc. other people will look at you and say "what's wrong with her parents?"

You know what i mean? Walk a mile in your parents's shoes for a sec. And this isn't meant to be rude, but it seems like you're just going through the "me-me-me" phase of growin up.

I know those people are stupid, but sometimes people like that can impact your life. I know I have had plenty of jobs working for and with people just like that. I'm not saying you have to care what people think, but if you present yourself in certain ways, certain people (mostly igrorant ones) pass judgement.

And if you look at the post more carefully, I said "I know it's bullshit" right before I started talking about it. Sorry for not being more clear.

But you're right, it's just a shame that appearance matters to people that dumb, and these are the people you may have to work for, or kiss their ass some day. Pret-ty frustrating.
