I only water when the are completely dry and before this pic they were dry. They have been watered every 4th day.

I usually root seedlings in light warrior, no nutes in it, but tons of chunky perlite. The fact that you mentioned perlite suggests that you think something is amiss in your medium. You may want to let them dry out all the way, it's easy to rot roots on seedlings, and it'll show up all kinds of funky ways. If you are using a new medium, keep an extra cup full of it off to the side and water it too. Check it out with the others, but you can fingerF--- the one with no baby in it without worry.
Well i dont have any perlite in the soil. I have great drainage. When they are watered it runs through the cups and out the bottoms pretty quickly. I have holes in the bottom as well as a few slits in the sides of the cups. Just by picking them up an a slight squeeze, i can tell there dry. Thats a good idea to add an empty cup to use as a Gage for watering irydum:thumbsup:

Just my :twocents: for now. Keep us up to date and remember how hearty the plant is. Sometimes no action can be the best action for a minute:thumbsup:
Thanks irydum, i need all the advise i can get, as these were to go out in a couple weeks, but cant put them out like this for sure. And i know i need some perlite.

The cups are not clear, so stop worrying about the light hitting the roots.
Absolutely no additional nutrients until their 5th or 6th set of true leaves, since the MG Organic nutes will last a couple of months for you. But I'd still transplant into fresh medium without the additional Fox Farms nutrients, and I'd do it now.
They were bone dry before the pic was taken and like i said, the water runs right through the cups and out the bottoms of the cups. Iv never used any ferts like this before thirty days, but i guess i thought it might help. Its only been 2 days since i added the fert, so i guess il flush first. Then re pot with perlite. But, drainage is good. Its good to know the light isn't getting through the cups, as i didn't think it would, but after issues, i just tried anything i thought might help.

I guess re pot is the answer, with perlite this time.


Read as much and as often as you can. You seem to be missing the fundamentals, but there is hope if you continue to learn.
Rusty i read everyday, and thats no bull, everyday:thumbsup:I have never used these peat cups before, but i re potted the cup with 2 seedlings in it and roots were all the way to the bottom of the cup.

One last thing...Do yourself a favor, and quit trying to diagnose your own plant problems, until you know what the hell you're doing. Let someone with experience guide you. Killing your plants with good intentions is avoidable.
I am only going by my experience Rusty. No its not much compared to you and a lot of people on here and it was only meant as a suggestion, which i tried to rule out. But i understand, hell if i were ask id say they look over watered to me. But, iv make that mistake and im trying not to repeat the over water thing.

Likely a dumb question...but do you know your water Ph?

No question is dumb, its 7.1. I am slowly getting the tools i need, perlite is on the list. I went through the soil with my re veg project which is looking pretty good so far. But, iv used up the MG soil and all i have is cheap shit. I do have cash problems, but try to get the best materials when i can.

Also, thanks Rusty, i try an use what iv learned here, but this is something im just not understanding. I guess im one to try an use what iv learned before posting a pic with a question mark:wtf: I would think as an experienced grower, you would want me to try an figure out my issues before asking for help. And, this is my first ever problem starting any seeds? I had put them in these cups hoping i could cut half the cup off and plant with the cup around the plant to protect them from bugs, till they got bigger. So thats why there in them, just an idea?

Just took a pic and they seem a lot greener with new growth from yesterday, think i should maybe give them a few days after iv seen them better today?

I have them in Organtic MG soil, which i started them all in peat cups before putting them in these 32oz cups. My temps are 86 high and 68 degrees lows. The humidity is high 68 and low is at 48. I thought they were cold so i tried the blanket around them to try an cover the outside of the cups and try an keep them warmer. Dumb maybe but i need them to get up so im trying anything. Plus it keeps the light off the sides of the cups, as i know roots an light Rating: 5
