DEA raids another grower

There was a good point in the comments of that article... someone said something to the effect that we're being taxed to create laws for us to grow MMJ and we're also being taxed to pay for the DEA to come and steal the MMJ right out from under us! Doesn't make sense at all...

You see this makes perfect sense. We grow...and we pay taxes on salesof our products. If we get raided...whatever they seize...Land, Cash, and property is put right back into the DEA coffers.

These guys had absolutely no right to do what they did here. We simply don't understand it - if we could sum it up in one line it would be, "we were robbed by the DEA".

All paperwork was in order and everything was 100% legal under Colorado law - EVERYTHING, including patient files, as well as a specific license (plant husbandry/use stamp) to grow marijuana in these locations issued by the city of Denver. In fact, we did more to make sure we were operating legally than anyone else we've met in the business. We have consulted with 5 different attorneys and even had a recent walkthrough from one of the attorneys that co-authored Amendment 20 to ensure full compliance with the state law.

We have 80 patients that now have to find their meds on the black market! How can that be reconciled with a 'successful DEA raid'?

How can the DEA justify their actions in this case...when they are in direct conflict with the Department of Justice's own statement that they will not interfere with a state's right to regulate medical marijuana?

DEA agent in charge, Jeff Sweetin, specifically clarified the DEA's position on these matters recently when he said that the DEA would not go after folks operating legally under Colorado law, unless there were agravating factors of some kind, like drug use, connections to cartels, etc. None of these were present in this case.

There are dispensaries and grows all over Colorado that should be very concerned after what happened yesterday! We were in full compliance with state law and have lost EVERYTHING to some rogue DEA agents. It's still very unclear if they will be pursuing criminal charges as well....

As taxpayers, we are simultaneously paying for state lawmaking that supports Medical Marijuana and for DEA agents to steal it.

Also, the school that "Jesse" mentions is now closed down, and it is more than 1000 feet away from the location.

To all MMJ growers, dispensaries, and patients...be very, very carful, as the DEA has now demonstrated that they are not just busting people for going on 9news...this was a quiet, legitimate operation run by good people in full cooperation with state law.

I fear we will see more of these "Federally Sponsored Robberies" of both growers & dispensaries more and more over the summer. They have to fill that slush fund with as much stolen property and cash as possible before we make it legal Federally. I think there is a big storm coming before the calm. Hey DEA, isn't there still enough money left in busting Meth & Heroin Dealers? Where are your priorities?:wtf:

Meth and Heroin dealers are dangerous raids...Marijuana grows are an easy target...and we typically keep our money on site. The same money that funds the DEA comes from seizures of Cash and Property. Meth cooks usually don't own a ton of property to seize...when compared to an outdoor Cannabis farm. Follow the money Gratefulmeds...follow the money and you will find the tyranny!

Anyone else notice this wasnt covered at all by The Denver Post and 9News? They made a huge deal about Chris Bartkowicz. Makes me wonder if someone is not telling the media to keep a lid on this in order to get this bill passed. The DEA could then start being the fox slaughtering the sheep with all the huge grows 1284 would create. HB1284 is a genius way to kill off MMJ in Colorado.

yup thats why whenever i see people supporting this bill and then going that extra step to say all the bad stuff you hear about it is all fake and people just making shit up.thats when i flag that person as a person on the leo's payroll to stir up dissent.look up what obama said acouple months ago about starting a task force to do this very thing....

They complained to the police dept. They did nothing. So after complaining to the DEA over and over again, the DEA finally got fed up and raided them

I am sorry, but as a fellow grower, I think it's rude to stink up your neighbors business like a skunk and do nothing about it.

I am on their side, but come on, use common sense if you are going to do a huge grow in a warehouse in such an area. "Growers" who use such little common sense are the ones who give the rest of us a bad name

What can we learn from this?

1.) Do not grow over 99 plants at a time.
2.) Odor control, Ventilation, and a viable grow plan...is always smart
3.) Don't show anyone what you are doing. Not even the cool hippy neighbor.

These guys broke soooo many cardinal rules of growing...and we are all surprised they got raided? Fools will always get raided.

so you are for sure they had no filters at all?how do you know this?maybe they had filters but was unaware of how to hook up proper or did'nt figure the spacexfanxfilter right? maybe they were still getting set up as i do recall it was a new place?i mean thats not how i do things i make sure i have everything in ck b4 i move forward.but what i have seen in a few people like this is they really think it's all legal and no worries.infact i went to a warehouse right close to this one about amonth ago there are around 4 or 5 in this same area.the 1 i went to was right across the street from the leo station.it was about 20,000 sqft and as soon as you open the door it hits u.it would cost a small fortune to filter a place that big the right way.

anyways i was there for clones and the owner acted as if he was in the safest place and everything was cool.i told him man i'd be careful it's not as legal as you think it is.he said well iv'e done everything within the law so im fine leo just needs to get used to us being here cause were legal.i said well watch you're back.as i was leaving 2 young punk looking kids pull up the owner said oh no worries they are just my workers.

This so called american democracy is a joke. The powers that be have set up a system that has fooled the world into thinking that we have a choice in electing our government and that is a lie. We have 2 choices, republican or dems, and it is all the same thing. I do think that there is still hope for america but it will take a revolution to change it. We the people of this country need to stand united and remember that this country can change and become a free nation. One way to try is a true third party that is not connected to the norm, but like you said you have to be careful who you pick because it seems they have gotten to just about everybody.

well first off a 3rd party won't do shit either im sure you have heard of the independants? you could add 10 other parties and the same ol agenda steam roller would still be moving on.they all need to go everyone from the state lvl on up.then the new ones are told if you turn against the people there are no courts that can save you.you will be strung up and hung on the white house lawn with tv news crews to show the world.
