Bipolar Disorder
larry, you are an ass. I can list a whole slew of famous, intelligent and creative people who have suffered from bipolar disorder. the fact that you know nothing about this disease only exposes your vast ignorance. i for one am a poet and a lawyer and have been very successful in life despite my illness. you on the other hand are most likely a loser and suffer from more mental disturbances that i ever have.
Amsterdam- I can assure you that there is such a thing as bipolar disorder

Bipolar Disorder
I'm am also (imaginary, apparently) type II bipolar. Other posters' experiences mirror my own...it is very helpful for leveling out the cycling, which is the worst part of bp in my opinion. The hardest thing I find in dealing with the unstable mood is that it is almost impossible to know what cycle you are in when you are in it. Cannabis seems to break through this somehow and allows me to recognize if I'm acting like an ass, or sliding into a depressive cycle, or whatever; and take steps to deal. No other meds I've found can do this.
Most people are pretty much ignorant of their own mental/emotional nature. So they tend to blame their emotional lapses on other people, or their circumstances to keep the fantasy alive that they are in total control of their mind, because they Fear.
and Fear is the mind-killer.

being bi polar i have been using cannabis to regulate mood swings and it has been helpfull to me for as long as i can remember,
but i am a individual and we all should note it can be intense to some people to smoke thier meds,we all react different to any medication or drug or chemical we injest, not even twins would react the exact same, simular at best
anyway i consider fear like a chemical my body injects into itself when it reacts to some thought my brain has had, real events or imaginary dont matter
peace

Bipolar Disorder
I am bipolar with anxiety and insomnia and I smoke every day (when the supply allows). I can't say that cannabis has made me any more depressed (like the propoganda would have you believe)... If anything I think it has elevated my mood. I used to take Lithium, Xanax, Trazodone, and Depakote at the same time. Since I started smoking cannabis every day, I no longer take any psychiatric meds.

of course you will have to detox from your meds but after that phase is over you should stabilize. instead try self hypnosis and you will have a cure I guarantee
sometimes just being in certain places can affect moods significantly. My stepson was on ritalin and during the summer I didnt give it to him and he was great but come schooltime when those lazy ass teachers didnt want to work hard so they wanted any hyper kid on ritalin and when he was on it he had way more mood swings and was out of controll at night when the ritalin wore off. it is all about mind over matter. dont believe everything these money hungry people tell you and remember this negativity grows on itself. how much money do you think pharm companies and doctors make from bi-polar disorder? billions and billions self hypnosis and positive imaging is the key please dont take offense but I speak the truth.

Can someone tell me what it is like when you go through your episodes?
I really would like to know.
Do you think to much? What I mean is when you do stuff during the day it seems normal to you but when an episode hits, "if that is the right term" do you dwell on how your comments or actions could be taken another way, a negative way to others? I'm not talking about paranoia.
I have a friend who wont seek help but goes through things like that. He actually doesn't like being around people when he gets like that. I have no clue about Bi-Polar and he wont seek help....
Can anyone tell me what they feel like when an episode hits, not that your depressed but what goes on.
thanksGet out and vote campaign? We vote in 11 states to legalize Medical Marijuana only to have our dictators SPIT in our face. Democracy in America is only a word so that we look good to the world until the day comes that America Governs the world with an Iron Fist!
