New guy here. Turning 55 in a week. Along with some medical issues (non-life threatening thankfully) I am dealing with being laid off over 2 years now for the first time in my life from a 30 year high tech career I sacrificed alot to get and am realizing after alot of fruitless hustle is gone for good.

Being able to legally obtain and use cannabis has been a real help. I smoked my first joint at 14 in 1969 with a guy fresh from Vietnam with a duffel bag full of good weed, and I knew I had found my medicine. Some hippie years ensued, then the Army overseas and stateside, and then school and my drive to rise in the high tech world. Got harder and harder to get herb, most of my peers being big on the booze as their medicine.

And whoosh..here I be at 55. Got my MMJ approval 2 months ago for some medical issues I was afraid to go to my regular doctor for anyway in fear my now private insurance company would drop me or raise my rates once they saw them show up. And the drugs he would have prescribed wouldn't help anyway and the side effects would suck.

Instead, the world I dreamed of in regard to using marijuana safely, healthfully and peacefully those many years ago now long gone is here in many regards I am very thankful for. And I am also most thankful to this forum and the good souls that make it up - the interaction, the tone, the respect, the information. Priceless.

Shanti
