    4x4 Grow Box questions

Hi, i just had a few question i was hoping that you all could help me answer based on your experience.. Im constructing a grow box that is going to be 4x4x6 or maybe 7 but the question i keep coming too is the lighting and whether i should use a 600 or a 1000. Ive read for the 600 you loose 10% yield but at a gain of 40 less power consumed. I have a good amount of 1000 bulbs and ballasts around and a 400 MH and HPS. Should i use the 1000 watt and the older ballast or maybe buy a nicer digital for the 1000 or just get a whole 600 watt set up to use?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

ok..i'll make you think a step further...i grew with 600's then 1000's and now LED's...you can take a look at my link below to see my setup

i run 450w of LED in place of 1000w of HPS....no heat...no expensive exhaust fans...no bulbs to replace for 10yrs....just somethin else to think about! :smokin:

I agree, if temps are okay go with the 1k.

Yeah, really make sure that heat doesn't become an issue. But, straight8s' idea of a LED isn't bad neither. That is the route im heading for sure, although expensive and sometimes even frowned upon by some old schoolers- it does work. It's just a matter of finding good LEDs- eitherway your grow outcome will be good. Good luck and let us know what way you go.

    Peace
