I'm no expert and I don't mean to rain on your parade but you do realize if you bred your seeds from pollinating out your males with the females from the same hybrid source the result might not be as close to that original blueberry that you might be thinkin, right?

I have been breeding plants for thirty years. The genetics stay the same as long as you dont cross breed. I think you should look at our web site, and I will let our pics do the talkin.Home

Actually, that is not necessarily true; particularly when dealing with hybrids.

I donā??t mean any disrespect but surely a highly experienced individual such as you realizes pictures don't tell the whole story, right?

And quite frankly, the four plant pictures you display on your site don't tell squat.

i thought if you were to pollinate something like say, dutch passion blueberry, with itself, you'd come up with f2's? which wouldn't show the same uniformity of the original beans you started with??????

You're correct, Bongo. You stand a pretty good chance of coming up with a plant quite different from the original. Of course some VERY EXPERIENCED THIRTY YEAR GROWERS might say differently, cough, cough.

Don't feel bad. You guys don't know what your talking about. But You will learn the hard way. When you guys get done making fools out of your selves, and get a few years under your belt, you will see thing differently.Select breeding the same strain for years is common in Holland.

lol! so you're saying that f2's are not gotten the way i said? i believe they are. i never said that you couldn't go on from there and refine things, because if you want uniformity, if you're looking for particular phenotypes, that's how you'll have to do it. you can't just keep seeding females with the males and hope to end up with what you started with. and i don't feel bad, and i don't see how your thread is gonna make a fool out of anyone.
