    Very slow growing questions

    Hello,
I am growing a couple of plants for myself and am having some problems. The main problem is that the plants I am growing are under flourescents and are growing extremely slow. They are not starved for light because the nodes are about 1/4 inch apart but all the leaves are staying real small and like I said the growth is sloooooowww. They were slightly nute burned in the beginning because of the Miricle Grow soil I used so all of the first leaves crumbled away. Now it looks as though I have miniture trees that are about 5 to 6 inches tall. All the growth is at the top and there is no branching out. One of the plants is an AK-47 and it is growing slower than the other ones that were bag seed. It was also burned a little more so I flushed it and it still grows really slow. The bag seed plants are about 5 weeks old and 5 to 6 inches tall. The AK-47 is 4 weeks old and about 3 inches tall.

I grow in the basement so it stays cool around 65 to 70 degrees F. I don't know what the temperature is in the soil. I am guessing a few degrees cooler. My PH is around 6.8.

When I get my 400 watt HPS should I see some improvement?

    Please help.

Just copy and paste. The first one is AK-47 about 3 inches tall. The second is bag seed about 6 inches tall and the third is bag seed about 5 inches tall.

Well id bet there stressed, but growing in the basement is cold. I am having the same problem man, its cold and the roots dont want to grow for me. Could be your issue, but if ya have some heat you can throw in the space it might help. Im moving mine to a box till it warms up:rasta:

Yeap. 400 watt HPS will do you and your girls real good. The light will produce heat (unless you use cool tube) as well, warming up the area. You will see side branches developing, faster and denser growth. Also check out the pot size once you install 400 watt HPS: once the girls starting to grow, you will realize transplanting is the next step..

    Good luck!
