starting 1st hydro grow

So I have decided to try hydro, here is the setup, Pc grow with 1 gallon resevoir for two plants, 4 lights two 2700, two 6700. So with this small setup
what would be the best all around nutrients to run. Fox farms has a

tell me what you think if this would be a good table for a beginner, or is there an even easier all in one hydro nutrient system.


BTW the height of this box will be 22 inches from resevoir to lights.

even if your ph is right in the lake or brita you are still going to have to check and adjust it due to the nutes you add to it. tap water is the best water to use if you dont have hard water. also if you are in a dwc then foxfarm should be ok but if you run pumps and hoses keep in mind foxfarm bigbloom has a bunch of sediment that can clog em. foxfarm is great in soil but i would shy away from it and use a more known brand for hydro growing like advanced nutrients(expensive) or General hydroponics

This is the site I'm thinking of getting the fox farm products from take a look tell me what combo's you think would be best or which would be a rip.

Sorry just thought of another question, should I use Brita filtered water, or Lakewater? I got plenty of both lol.

I know it depends on PH it seems lakewater would be better if the PH is right?

Plenty of sites. HTGSupply is one place with reputable stuff for the most part. Green Mile Hydro is another. Discount Hydroponics is yet another.

just Google hydro nutrients and you will get plenty of sites to look at. I have about 12 sites saved in favorites depending on what I'm looking for :jointsmile:

I use General Hydroponics with good success but after a few years I am looking for something with better yields. I am thinking of using Advanced Nutrients but cost bothers me.

You can get the same yield from GH as AN. AN spends too much on false marketing (plants don't need so much phosphorous my butt - ATP production/consumption shown in a live plant proves 100% otherwise) and you'll just be spending money for a more concentrated product when you could just double up on GH nutes, get the same results, and still spend less.

If you're going for a brand switch, do a switch to a company that's been around for a LONG time and knows their stuff - House & Garden.
