and what about that is not absolutely revolting and cruel? why did everything HAVE to be killed and destroyed as you say? for ONE reason alone, because GOD WANTED IT done that way. that is the only possible reason and it is gross. if god had wanted to handle it a different way and be loving and merciful, he could and would have.. after all he is god. he CHOSE to be intolerant and blood-thirsty.

ever watch the movie gangs of new york? if ol bill the butcher would have killed the kid then it would have saved him his life the many years later.
it scares me that you just so nonchalantly justified baby killing. i'm astonished. don't you see something horribly wrong here?

how do you get a god of "peace and love," like you said earlier, from a foundation of baby smashing and child stoning? if he was all-powerful and all-loving, he could have ruled in a merciful way, even back then. what an example to the world that would have been! what an example to me that would have been. instead the people of your faith try to cover up your gods unrepentant dark past with twisted ideas like an "old and new covenant" of god with his people that is supposed to magically make his disgraceful past justified.

how can i follow a god with a track record as blood stained as the god of the judeo-christian faith and maintain any sense of honor, dignity, humanity?

For this reason christians don't practice most of the barbaric laws promoted in the old testament any longer. for example...
