Growing Both Indoor & Outdoors @ Same Time

I didn't know how to title this but I did do a search and couldn't find my question. I am following the law to the letter which means I will have 6 plants, 3 each in veg and bloom. I am also growing in soil. Since it is very easy to move my plants from inside to outside, currently for about 6-8 hours a day here, I am dragging them inside and outside 4 of 7 days of the week. I have a cheap light meter but when I take it outside, even in the shade or cloudy days, it maxes out (2k+) on the meter. There is no way I can match that inside. I also save on electricity each day of course. If I follow the 12/12 and 18/24 with a combination of hid and sunlight, you don't think I will burn the plants outside or something else I didn't think of do you?

In my next cycle I can let them stay out almost all the time except when I am asleep when someone might "borrow" them lolz ......

The problem as I see it will be that instead of pulling them in and out four of seven days a week, you will need to do it every day of the week.

Plants from inside can be put outside with no ill effects.

The schedule must be followed every day. You may experience more hermies due to screwing with the light cycle.

In my case I started with the idea of harvesting in June (very dry here, then) Used NY diesel clones Started them with 24 hr light (12 hrs sunlight, 12 hrs CFL's). After 6 weeks I would leave them outside for 12 timed hours of sunlight, then I put them in my dark garage for 12 hours of dark. Smoke was good, not great. Also plants yielded @32 gms instead of @37 which I would get from a average outside NY diesel short season plant.

There are two major problems with going back-n-forth.

You need to be analy on-schedule every single day. The first time you forget them, they might still be ok. Forget them often...you risk stressing them too much. (plus it's a major pain in the ass)

Also, when you take them outside, you expose them to bugs and insects, which you bring indoors with the plants. Bugs and insects love it indoors where there's people, pets, houseplants, crumbs, trash cans...

I moved the plants from my box outside because they were getting too crowded. I just got a timer and run it currently from 8-10 PM and from 5-6:30 AM. I am using just one single 14W power saving flourescent bulb In a socket with one of those reflector cones around it. The plants have been out for about a month and are doing outstanding. They are growing way faster than at any time when they were in the box. I built a cage around them and throw a tarp over them at night so they don't glow so badly.

I don't really have an insect problem since I let the chickens range through my yard. They eat every bug, snail or whatever they can find.

Yeah, I am an old time smoker but have been growing seriously for just 2 1/2 years. I am just hoping my simplistic and economic suggestions are helpful to someone.
