    Cloning

Thanks guys! I actually took the top half of my plant down. Got plenty of bud. Now back to the Veg room. I converted a 52" big screen projection TV into an awesome growbox. I will give it time to revert.

... though some advice I heard from someone who'd 'been-there-done-that' was that his success rate was better if he trimmed the bottom-most part of the plant, and left the top buds (and a /few/ fan leaves), and gave it something like 3-4 weeks minimum to sort its shite out and get happy again.

One /could/, if one was so inclined, still harvest a lotta buds (and maybe /some/ of the top ones), and still have a healthy plant to clone from.

I have a personal thing where if I /have/ to trim a lower fan leaf (whenever) that's just getting in the way anyways, why not prep the thing properly with the rooting gel I keep handy, and put it into rockwool immediately in my cloning tray? If it lives, great! If not, I was going to have to throw it away anyways

    Keep tha Motha!!!

I have two plants I consider worthy to re grow and clone this season. I take all but 4 branches off. Then they go under 24 hour light (12 hrs sun, 12 hrs cfl's) for as long as five weeks. Here's a pic at the end of week two. It will not hermie to a male. It is a great way to preserve a great strain

Well don't listen to me as the only re-vegging I did was years ago in a similar situation. I note now, that one of my throw out stumps has taken off out in the mulch pile all by itself. Gonna just let it do it's thing and see what happens. It was the very bottom little nubs that came back to life.

For starters...those that don't know, speak in generalities and can offer nothing in the way of technique, process or troubleshooting. All of which is contained in the link mentioned before. (tiz a step-by-step tutorial)

In my opinion and experience, leaving the buds delays the reveg process. All you need are a few leaves to get the ball rolling. The reasoning behind my claims are contained in the re-veg thread.

Covert...provide a link, I'll look at their process and technique.
Plus...What's the point of even trying to clone a leaf, when you've got good woody stock that's already rooted? Worse case is you could clone a branch...but I'm curious...why bother with trying to root a leaf?

i saw a guy on riu talking about rooting a leaf. bottom line is, there is no sense in rooting a leaf, if you want to grow smoke. if you don't have a growth tip, you can't grow buds. i've re-vegged before, and to me it was a waste of time unless it's a strain you don't have beans for. reverting to veg, and then growing to the size you want it before flowering, can take longer than simply germing a bean. Hopefully the OP read the re-veg link, but...

On that we definitely disagree. Too many benefits to discount the technique as a waste of time, especially when done correctly. The only time I do not have a lady re-vegging, (or re-flowering) is when I chose to change the strain(s) I'm currently smoking.
Beans are fine back-ups to the clones I take from these re-vegging plants, but I get tired of culling half of my plants due to maleness. I fem a few batches every once in a while, but the novelty wore off a while back. Re-vegging and clones are soooo much easier.

Below: Lemon Skunk, (fairly heavy indica dominate) 3 1/2 weeks re-veg, (took no clones) coming up on 4th week of re-flower in a 5 gallon pot. (top view looking down is one plant)
About 2 1/2 feet tall so far...which is fairly common for my lemon skunk.

... but then I remembered that the original link I found on re-vegging then led me later to another, much better link...

Which, as luck would have it, Rusty, is the fourth link right at the end o' your sig [insert abject hero-worship here] You /could/ take a look at that page to critique buddy's technique, if you want, but that might seem a tad schizophrenic...

    Keep on Keepin' ON!
