First grow check list.

Lots of great info on this site and would like to thank everyone for helping to put it together.
I'm wanting to make sure I have a good set up for my first grow so I want to hear from you. :thumbsup:
I have a small veg area 14"x 36"x48"tall. I have a small growlight in there that so far has brought my seeds to seedlings (10 plants 1-2 inches tall). I have mylar all around the area with a small fan. Growing from Jiffy pods in a tub for the hydro. Light on 18 off 6. Feed threw hydro (Pure Blend Pro grow nutes) half strenght. Temps 73-90 in the light hours and low of 68 no light time.
Now I've been reading about CFL 6500K lights for the first few weeks and have been looking into changing my light out to these. But what to use after the first few weeks? Can I use say a 4 CFL 26w for the rest of the growth till taking them to flower?

I still have to set up my flower closet but do have a 400w HPS for it. It's a 12 sq. ft. area so I think with mylar and another hydro set up I should be good to go..

Any info you guys can give to make my growing run smooth from start to finish would really help in my growing areas..

I'm still a bit new to growing myself, but seeing as no one else has replied, here is my :twocents:.

You can use the 6500k blue spectrum lights for the entire vegging period but you will get much more rapid growth using a Grolux or MH lamp. I assume you are using CFL's to eliminate heat issues in a small veg space?

4 x 26w CFL's isn't going to be enough light for 10 plants imo, I think they would grow very slowly. I used 1 x 125 watt CFL for 2 plants during my 1st grow and got just over 2oz a plant. I have since increased this to 2 x 125w for my second grow and in the future I plant to increase this to 2 x 250watt to increase my plants yield. Basically, the more light the better.

I'm going to be weeding out the weak and only keep 4 to bring further in life. Actually ended up going to 3 CFL to keep heat down in my area. With the mylar all around and the lights only a few inches from the plants, they seem to get plunty of light and heat. Right now they are small enought to have gathered in a 1.5 sq.ft. I'm down to ten and will work 6 more out as days go by to get the healthiest ones.

I have read that aswell and for right now I have 3 x1700 so think I'm good for them. As they grow I will have to add more to cover the area but for now I think it's enough. Actually a 3sq ft. area at 15000 lumans is a ton..lol That little area is way to bright with the mylar and 4x 1700..:wtf:

Thanks they are not as complete as I would like them to be because I don't have a camera and have to borrow one. If you have access to a camera, I would highly recommend starting your own grow log. It helps you keep track of what you did and when, which really helps with troubleshooting and optimising future grows. It also means other growers can look at your setup and suggest improvements.

I do plan on doing one once I get my clones. These are just unknown seeds I got for free to practice with. Just testing my set up and seeing what works before going full throttle..lol
