Looks like your gaining on on the set-up. If you can get 2 more splitters, you can take out both cfl's and put a splitter in both of the sockets. This makes it possible to have four cfl's on one light.

The hook lights i use reflect a lot of light for me and im sure it would help you. You might find something around your house, like card board covered in crinkled tin foil, held on with duct tape or something. Anything at this point, till you can get a hook light. They are around 7.99.
