If it is really objectionably loud, check to see if there is excessive shaft clearance on the fan. With the fan OFF

I got a 10" inline fan to cool my hood (600w) and a fan controller to slow it down for less noise. The only problem is that when using the speed controler to slow it down the fan makes a loud buzzing noise but still works as intended. Was wondering if this is normal? The noise from the wind and such is minimal when using the controler but again it has a weird buzz noise Rating: 5
