My last grow was similiar your current one. Except, I used the drip system in a tray for vegetation. Plants were in Grodan cubes (rockwool) and put in 5.5" sq. pots 6" deep and filled in with Hydroton.

Vegetating like that under T12 tubes worked well.

When taken to flower I pulled the drip tube and carried it to the flower room and put in in an ebb and flow tray for flowering, pot and all. It worked great except...

The plants never got over 30 inches tall. Reason? the pot size was too confining for the strains I was growing. Not enough holes in the pots for the roots to get out. Roots massed in the pot.

If I do this again I'll ditch the plastic pots and nestle the rockwool and plant in a bed of Hydroton. That way the roots can't blame me for not having enough room to grow.

Hope this helped.
