What are you using to test your water ph?
Does your tapwater smell like chlorine?
Ditch the Superthrive crap.

7.0 ph should be fine...especially once the soil buffers wear-off. if your tapwater smells like chlorine though, letting it sit-out overnight should help outgas the chlorine, unless your locals use solid forms of chlorine that won't outgas. (reverse osmosis filtering helps though, if that's the case)

Optimal for peat-based soils is between 6.3 and 6.8. The buffers in your soil should keep you ok though.
