Still some clear trichs, but getting there. I agree with letting them go a week or two longer if possible, if you are looking for the "where the hell did my hand go...?" type of effect.

Nope. Pistils (the hairs) are no indication of anything other than the plant is hairy. Once they are (individually) no longer a tube that can catch and transport the pollen to the ovum inside the calyx (creating the seed) ...they die-off.
Damage is frequent and can be from mishandling (squeezing the bud) battered by other buds, branches and leaves, burned by the lights or heat...
Pollination of the calyx also renders the tubes obsolete, and the pistils will die-off as a result.

Loads of healthy pistils are a good sign that the plant is maturing, but not a gague of readiness. Trust the trichomes. They won't steer you wrong.
