Can't sell the weed I've grown
Just wondering how many people have set themselves up to produce MM and now find that they are unable to sell their produce. Or found the offering price has dropped well below what they had anticipated?

Can't sell the weed I've grown
I've been posting on this forum for six months. About twice, maybe three times a month someone comes on here saying something like,.. "I quit my job to grow MMJ. It's my first grow".
There are SO many people growing now, that unless you grow the dankest of the dank, Know the owner of a dispensary, or know enough MMJ patients. You should keep your day job.
Beyond that, unless we see pictures, know the stain, can smell, taste and sample to see if properly dried, cured and handled. NOT ONE person on this site can tell you why they won't currently buy it from you. Sorry:wtf:
As more and more people do this, the price will drop. That is until (if) the new law passes. At that point, dispensaries will have to charge even more then now, to cover the increased taxation. ONLY licensed grows will be legal to sell!Plus to grow anything other then your five patients plants and sell ONLY to them will require the state have full access to your grow for "health inspection". It comes down to the $5000 fee. If you paid that, to the state, you can sell to anyone licensed. If you don't pay, Your going to be full on screwed!
I've seen a few ads on Craigs selling overgrowth. So, until this law passes that is still an option. Keep in mind though,.. If it isn't very good, you'll simply piss people off who want the best. Plus you'll end up either delivering it, or having traffic while they come to you.
Once HB10-1284 passes and becomes "law". Anything over your 2oz per patient is illegal. Regardless of their, or your, status. You can be charged with propagation and maybe even distribution of a controlled substance. The law specifically removes the private small grower from any legal method of selling or ridding themselves of overgrowth. That way, little miss 50 year old church going, Cancer patient, can become part of our governments favorite private prison system. :wtf: Where as RJ Renolds could grow a few acres!A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.
I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.

the new law would just push that activity underground. there is no way to tell if something was grown on-site or not. there will just be alot of "off-register" sales to fund the inventory purchases. The laws will not bring more to light - they will force it back underground.

If you want, I'll look at your meds as long as you're legit under the amendment. We're pretty straightforward.

But I believe this will correct itself within a year or so. Many many people have gotten into growing or started dispensaries with expectations of huge profit margins. Once they figure out their overhead and find they can only get half of what they thought per pound (and that's if they are able to harvest a quality product). But those of us that have been doing this awhile know there will be some slim times coming up but we will weather it because this is what we do, what we have always done. But for those that got into it to get rich quick I think many will fall by the wayside and run for the next "get rich" scheme, once they find the margins are not that big.

As long as you have quality I think that usually speaks for itself as long as you don't expect an arm and a leg for your goods.:rastasmoke:

really, if you aren't doing it for yourself, forget it.
Everyone who's ever thought about growing, especially here in CO has had the get-rich-quick plan in their head. Some folks before they even plant a seed. It's like saying - "Electricians make a lot of money. I think I'll be an electrician! Hey, where can I get some wire?"
