You have your opinions, I have mine. I do acknowledge there are those in true need of assistance, but after 2, 5, 10 years (building a welfare family) it is no longer assistance...it's income. Make 'em work for the welfare dollars, and all of a sudden being on welfare isn't such a profitable arrangement.

Yeah. Stifle all dissent, and mock those that disagree. So I should just bury my head in the sand and acquire a bleeding heart for the uninspired and lazy? Hardly.
If I come across a person or family in need, I offer help if I'm able. But it's my choice in accordance with my abilitiy to do so. According to the government I have no choice, and the rights of the uninspired and lazy will only cost us 250 billion a year. All this welfare is doing is promoting a laziness and an inappropriate sense of entitlement funded by those that aren't gaming the system, being irresponsible with their birth control, or using the welfare to fund their drug sales and habits. And then there's their medical bills, crime rates, fatherless families...

So the govt. wants to put everyone in college...? I'm curious where all those high paying jobs will be once they graduate, in order to pay-off that collegiate welfare. One thing is for sure...it won't be here in the States under obama's policies.
