Water content (%) of fresh bud?

Hello,

Just curious what a freshly harvested and trimmed bud would weigh in comparison to when it was dry?

Say you just cut a bud down and trimmed it and it weighs 4 grams. After drying and curing, what could you expect that same bud to weigh?

I'm guessing about 75% water content, but I have no idea... This would put a 4g wet bud at 1g when done drying...

Your guess is right on. I have weighed buds when wet and then dry. 75% +-5%

same here. Its quite depressing !

It will most likely be less than a gram dry from my experience, also depends what you counsider dry. I call it dry at 60-65% humidity, where it cures well, stems snap but its still very sticky, and doesn't crumble when you break it apart. Curing stops below 55% humidity. I think density is also a contributing factor to wet vs dry weight.
