TOPPING and a few other ?s

-Hello just few ?s and an update on my plants. 2 of them are 28 days old and the other one is only 25 days old but growing growing a lot slower. One of the plants has taken off a little faster than the others, and the weird thing about that is that I was sort of doing an experiment to see if there is a real difference if you use Foxfarm Ocean Forest soil or Miracle Grow Organic Choice. Surprisingly the soil that I spent $27 for one large bag of is doing worse than the $4.99 bag of Miracle Grow.
- Are either of the 2 larger plants ready to be topped? The one in the white bucket looks like its not filling out as much as the ones in the orange buckets even though they are different strains , the 2 smaller plants already have a stench to them its a vague coffee scent.
-The biggest plant is 13" then the next smallest is about 9" and the baby plant is only about 4 or 5" tall.

the pics are not in focus, can't see the fine detail. the tallest ones are long past due for topping.... I prefer to use the "fim" method. Mine are at 5 weeks.. the seeds were planted on March 1st. Check the thread link in my sig.

questions your lighting.. what are you using for lighting, and how much clearance between the tops of the plants and the lights?? Not enough light, and too far above the plants will cause them to stretch and become spindly.
