Purple Diesel Medical Grow

"I noticed (this could be my imagination) better growth and more trichome development under the light with no glass."

This is not your imagination. I've had to prove this many times to people by using any simple light meter. Fixed bulb, fixed meter, piece of optical glass from an expensive flat bed scanner. Got the light placed where the meter read 1000. Put the glass in right against the bulb, dropped to about 900. Moved the glass down by three inches, 500.

Glass reflects, after all.

If you take a clear piece of glass and look at it edge-on you will see the true color. Some are bluish, some are greenish. Many are greenish (like the scanner bed glass, it acts as a green-balancing filter to the scanner) and thus they actually cut down on usable red and blue light while transmitting more of the green light.

I think what i shall do then is test the purple max on half and gravity on half of the ones treated with purple max and half of the ones not treated with purple max.
so i get only purple max, gravity-purple max, only gravity.
this will be a nice test.

do you use gravity regularly? i have a bottle and it scares me...ive bleached too amny tops with it but that was long ago and under HPS and i had no way of raising the light any higher than it was...so maybe have to do my own experiment inder the LED's...does it increase yield with your grows?

I am not sure about gravity or purple max. I know for sure bushmaster works. You know that too.
I have used gravity and purple max every grow so i have nothing to compare it too.
This grow I will do the test.
2 plants = nothing
2 plants = purple max
2 plants = gravity
2 plants = gravity and purple max

the purple maxx is good stuff and can be used weekly....i do know that...but the gravity...that one''s got me...so i was just wondering what you experience has been! :jointsmile:

From what I understand, under LED, gravity should work fine. It's typically HID users that have issues as the plant becomes less tolerant of heat. (This is why it is not recommended for plants that bear fruit, as it'll force fruit dropping, similar to heat issues for most other plants.)

Today I top fed 4 of the plants with 2ml/(4l water) of purple max

Nice Air flow between flowers:
4 two liter bottles in between plants and one on floor with a bubble counter so I know when to add sugar and yeast.
bubble counter: 1bubble/sec
solution: 4 days old
