Medical 'donations'
I have noticed something very striking...
I can't afford prime rib. So, I eat chicken. But, it doesn't piss me off that the store has prime rib or that someone will buy it and eat it.
I can't afford a new Jaguar. So, I have a 12-year-old Cadillac. But, when I drive past a Jaguar dealership, it doesn't piss me off that the lot is full of fine cars or that I can't afford them.
I can't afford to go to Hawaii. But, when I see a travel ad or go past the airport, I'm not enraged that going to Hawaii is expensive and that I have to go to work, instead.
That's life - and I'm not Donald Trump.
But, somehow I'm not pissed off about that, either.
So, why are people so pissed off that really good medicine isn't cheap?
The truth is, people are lucky to get anything even worth having at street prices - especially if they just got their card and they don't know anyone.
They certainly don't have their choice of a dozen strains, edibles, sprays, tinctures, etc on the street! They pay whatever the dealer says and they get whatever the dealer gives them. That's how it works out there on the street corner.
So, where are all my old, sick and broken patients supposed to go for meds?
I don't mean how it should be or how it will be. I'm talking about right here and now.
Where do they go?
And how can ANYONE grow cheap meds with a presumptive limit of 15 plants?
The key to low cost goods is economy of scale. That's fancy talk for "manufacturing a bunch of widgets makes it's cheaper to manufacture each individual widget". 15 plants give us no way to get any kind of economy of scale, whatsoever.
I won't even get started on the expense and expertise require to produce AAA meds. Suffice it to say that most weed is crap - plain and simple. It's hard to kill cannabis - and even a really crappy grower is bound to get something from a harvest. But, it's gonna be crap unless you know precisely what you are doing. Not many people know what they are doing. So, most weed sucks.
Simple enough.
Any medicine worth having is gonna cost you. Whether it costs you hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to grow or whether it costs you $40 or $50 for an eighth, it's gonna cost you.
So, does that mean it shouldn't be available, at all, just because it costs?
Does anyone here think good meds are expensive, when compared to the cost of cancer treatments? Or AIDS meds? I know people with over $5000/mo in prescription costs - and they're sick as hell, still!!
Is even $400/oz for grade A weed really that expensive, when compared to overall medical costs and the costs of prescription meds?
Of course not. It's an absurd notion.
Those who fear government or corporate control are probably not completely unjustified, either. Our government could screw up a wet dream... I doubt anyone here will argue that point, at least. Our government doesn't exactly inspire confidence in their competence, now do they?
