Drug test at a basic physcial exam for employment?

High there everybody.

I recently had an interview for a job this summer to help clear out schools that have been closed down. The job only goes from June to August and it is through the county. During the interview I was told that I will have to do a basic physical exam just to check if I'm able to physically perform the needed tasks. I was never told of a drug test and the papers I had to bring home didn't have any part where I had to sign to agree to a drug test.

I got the job but don't want to mess it up by failing a drug test as I'm a light to moderate smoker mostly everyday. I recently just started taking a break and will have plenty of time to be clean before the physical. I'm probably just being paranoid but could it possibly happen, a surprise drug test at a physical?

From what I've read on websites you must be informed and should have to sign a form for them to be able to drug test you. I would really like to know from anyone with knowledge as I have some very nice herb stashed away that would help get through the boring days.

Safety first man, safety first then teamwork. Those are two rules to live life by.

While it may be illegal for them to test you and so on, do you have the time and patience to take them to court if this happens? It's better to play it safe, especially when it comes to employment. We're stuck in a rat race, gotta get that green.

Plus, taking a little time off never hurt. Throw those nugs in a little vacuum or rubbermaid container and leave it in the closet until you can be free to smoke. It'll be that much better :jointsmile:

Alright man. Thanks for the encouragement. I'll play it safe as I should. I don't have much of a problem not smoking, actually enjoy being sober. Took almost a month break for another job without a problem. Funny you suggest the closet as it's been sitting in there nicely put away.
