    Seedling concerns.

    Hi everyone,
I am growing my first hydro plants and have a couple of concerns with them. I have two seedlings Kaya47 (fem) which are two weeks old, one is looking really well, the other has some gold/yellow speckles on the first set of leaves which are also curling up and the second set of leaves are curling down. My pH is stable at 5.8, EC reads 0.4, daytime temp 23*C nightime temp 13*C. Roots look nice and healthy (white and lots of them). Added Canna Start 4ml/l to both plants as recommended on bottle. Also noticed the stem just above the root-rite cube looks unusual? I hope it's not damping off. I have attached some pics..
Does anyone have any ideas to what is going on? Any help would be much appreciated!

i would put some sort of medium..i.e. hydroton or coco coir and fill to the top of your cover there...also as your plant grows it will sort of shed the outer skin as the stalk size increases from what i have seen in sprouting seeds...from looking at your pic that is all i can see...otherwise your plants look good:jointsmile:

Hi stra8outtaWeed, thanks for your quick reply. I do have Geolite expanded clay balls covering the root-rite cubes and the nutrient level is about 1cm below the bottom of the baskets. I initially thought that it might be overwatering but thinking things thru, I can't see how it can be, especially as the other lady is looking so well... Could the daytime/nightime temp difference be the culprit? Just realised my sick girl is quite close to the air intake duct...
So much to learn my friend!

i could not see the anything in there...and wanted to make sure the babies would have support as they get taller...growing is a constant learning experience and if you pay attention to your details you will quickly achieve success...but you will always make mistakes..we all do..it is learning from them and not repeating them:thumbsup:

You're right! Perhaps I'm worrying too much. I'm quite experienced growing outdoors and there are so many factors you can't control that you just get on with it... Shame my hydro expert friend is having a holiday courtesy of the Queen of England...
