1000 watts may be overkill depending on how may plants you have and the area your growing in.

generally, veg time is whatever you want to make it. look at the pictures ive uploaded. i generally let my clones go 30 days on veg before switching to 12/12. my current plants still have between 4 and 5 weeks until harvest and they are damn near triple in size. the rooted clones pik was taken on 1/12/2010. the 30 days later pik was on 2/12/2010. you can see how much they have grown.

as far a chemicals go, that also depends on what youve got going on, how big your girls are, how often you water, how much light your giving them ( I.E. 18/6 OR 24 HOURS ON VEGETATIVE STATE) ect.

remeber, your plants will generally double in size + when put on 12/12.

as far as fertilizers go, there are tons of recomendations online.
