Use Ground or Powder Bud?
I have the typical hand grinder for my vaporizer but Iā??ve heard people say, grind as fine as possible. Watching a Volcano Vaporizer Video it looks like the guy used a much finer ground than the hand held grinder will make. I have taken a tool & smashed (ground) up the Bud that came out of the grinder because it just didnā??t seem fine enough. I have a Mr. Coffee grinder that will grind bud to a very fine powder like Talcum powder. Will the finer ground work better in an Easy Vape type Vaporizer?

Herb ground to a powdery consistency, with most vapes, is too fine. Most quality vapes are convection, where the heated air passes through the herb. Most screens are going to allow powder to pass through-not good. The Volcano is certainly not a model that would require a very fine grind. A few vapes, herbalAire and Vapolution are two that come to mind, work much better with pieces instead of ground. Both of those models would pass way too much uncooked herb beyond the bowl, and the herbalAire does such a good job, efficiency wise, that there's simply no need to grind at all.
A powdery grind is good for conduction vapes, where the herb that contacts the hot surface is the part that gets vaporized. The only good conduction model I can think of is the Magic Flight Launch Box. The screen on that one is so fine that pretty much nothing can get through.
A normal grinder will process herb just fine for a whip vape like the Easy Vape.

Thanks for the info, I was just wondering because after I dump the finished bowl there's always green left over so I do it again next time.
I just ordered the New Extreme Q Vaporizer $234.99, hoping the bag will cut down on my coughing problem

I find that you have to stir the bowl and sometimes break the clumps up. I use a pair of cuticle scissors to fill my bowl with shavings from a bud. The individual shavings are thin but wide, like slices. I vape them, then I stir and crush them a bit and vape some more.
Did you mention coughing in another thread? THC is an expectorant, so expect it to make you a little phlegmy. I've never used a bag, but it stands to reason that it would be less harsh than a whip.
I'm not sure if this is true, but some people have told me that your typical green stuff is harsher than the brown Mexican brick stuff because it has chlorophyl, which I guess irritates your lungs. Unfortunately, I've never seen a pot dispensary carry the brown stuff.
