California Legalization News!
Welcome to Can Com. :greenthumb:
I am a native californian but living "back east" :rastasmoke: these days.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I read this Prop, the good folks of Humboldt don't have to legalize or tax within their county if they really don't want to. I hope they do, though, I like the idea from the article of making it like the napa valley for bud.imp:
The one thing this Prop would mandate to all counties is that adults can grow their own in a 25 sf garden. I don't see how that is going to lead to the large industrial size commercial grows that everyone seems to fear will take over the market. I don't see it but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
This seems to me like the correct baby step, leaving most of this stuff optional at the county level. This is different than Prop 215 which mandated to the counties. This Prop is purposely drafted this way, to answer some of the concerns the Supreme Court raised against 215.
I say, don't worry be happy :hippy: :rastasmoke: vote yes, and let cali grow to the next level.

i have cousins in Humboldt and they think that because their in Humboldt it makes them the best. They think their shit doesn't stink...to many egos over there...it is the growers before them that would guerrila grow in the woods that gave Humboldt the rep...not the indoor growers of today...but when you live in the fog and isolated from the world the way they are...and because it is so easy to get a medical that they are worried about competition...and price! JMO! :hippy:

A five foot wide by five foot long grow area is dinky.

Way too small. My Physicians Statment says I can grow 25 plants and possess 5 lbs for personal use. You can't get that in a 5 x 5 plot.
I think the 5 lbs is limiting. I make butter (cookies, candy etc) and tincture for the bad pain days and smoke for constant pain every day. I go through more than 5 lbs a year in personal use.
I will still probably vote for this prop but I do find it taylored more for indoor growers than outdoor growers.

living in Oklahoma, 25 sf of free and legal gardening space would be a god send to me.
just to clarify, tho, the 5x5 limit on the garden would only be for NON medical adult use if this Prop passes. It would not affect the limits on medical use. the amount you can grow for med use can only be limited only by your medical need as adviced by your doc, the way I understand the cali supreme's.

I guess you have to take what you can get. IMO, limiting the space is ludicrous,as is the 21 year old wording.
Once again, watered down blah.
My check stubs showed I payed SS taxes at age 13.
Had I chosen so, I could die for my country at 18.
And yet again the age number "21" is supposed to be a milestone?
Like the drinkers it makes responsible?
Demonization needs to stop at all levels. Period.
P.S. I see it not passing by a slim margin. Been there before.

God, no wonder people don't take us herb smokers seriously, listen to you guys. No matter what we are being offered there is people bitching about it. Saying 5x5 is too small, WHO CARES. Its better than nothing. Take what you can get and work from there. Beggars can't be choosers.

there is another thread somewhere that has the actual language of this prop. but I'm not sure but I think this might allow large industrial sized gardens, too, if approved by the counties, presumely to fill the demand for their newly legal retail sales. the 25 sf limit applies to NON-MEDICAL personal adult use, only. Give me 25 sf of free legal garden space I'm a happy man. :twocents:
