It is a difficult process. The most difficult being the part where you talk to your doctor and the second most difficult is the waiting for the paperwork to go through. Health Canada and the Marihuana Medical Access Regulations are not known in the medical community as being an efficient organization. I currently am renewing my prescription and I sent my paperwork in February. They haven't processed it yet. I suggest finding a local group of people who are medical marijuana advocates. I am part of a non profit organization called Maritimers Unite for Medical Marijuana and hold the position of patient advocate. In this position I try to help people like your self gain access to medicine that the government is forced to provide. It costs 5 dollars a gram to buy medical marijuana from the government plus provincial tax. You have to purchase a min of 5 grams and that is a once a month thing. Just a heads up, I would say your almost better off finding a compasion club. These are not legal in Canada but if you have tried everything else and marijuana is the only thing that helps you AND you have no other option then I recommend doing this.
