She's a Goliath Birdeating Tarantula, like in the movie Arachnophobia and just as mean! If you even look at her wrong she flings the little hairs from her back at you like an Amazon native shooting poison arrows with deadly accuracy. They stick all over and itch for days, then if that doesn't work she stands on her back legs, hisses, and bares her 3/4" fangs. I suggest never getting one, lol.

stra8: I might have to move out there and start calling you dad! Here's one of my current babies with my probably soon to be ex:

She has, and it could've been bad if it weren't for safety procedures (2nd trained person in room) and instincts/experience from a lifetime of working with them. I've been keeping various reptiles and other creepy crawlies all my life, and large pythons & boas for the past 7, 8 years. They can be the most gentle and tame animals, but unfortunately in the past few years groups like PETA & HSUS are trying to outlaw them federally because of a faulty gov survey and a few deaths from irresponsible keepers. I'm already an "outlaw" because of the rest of my lifestyle choices, hate to be completely one because I choose to keep "dangerous/injurious wildlife" instead of golden retrievers, who account for the most injuries/deaths from animals kept as pets...If it weren't so cold (and expensive to do so) I'd move to Canada.

Yeah, locking cages on all animals dangerous or not and inside a closed room. I've woken up to a snake curled next to me for warmth before, it's not as amusing as it sounds when that same snake is your meanest and previously strangled you into unconsciousness...
