    LED grow test, comments wanted

again~if grow shops are all selling green LED lights to use for entering a grow room in the dark cycle without interupting the plant...how does it see it the green to make beta-carotene? does not make sense to me! my LEDs have some fringe spectrum lighting but no green!:hippy:

The only thing I can think of is the small amount of the flowers that are not green, like the pistols, but I don't think those produce, they are just produced. I don't know.

    As for advice?
Lose the Hydrotron and look into coco coir.
It's a good medium for led growing.

I tried Cocofiber and ended up with a lot of gnats in my apartment. Is there another alternative?

As for the green. I tried custom lights with green and with out and the green ones caused tighter nodes and faster, fuller growth.

Not necessarily. The Emerson effect can just as easily work in a plant to downshift blue light that isn't used into green quantum incident light to give BC what it needs. You really want to drop the green out, as it actually works as a growth inhibitor and has very little photosynthetic effect.

If you want to directly stimulate BC and include some photosynthetic effect if you just don't want to find more blue modules, look for more aqua-green LEDs in the 500-510nm range
