Random UA's tips, advice, experiences

Help, I just got a job that gives random UA's. I am a daily smoker and not really looking to give it up. Just curious as to how random UA's have worked for those of you in the same situation? Our testing facility is down the street from the office. I am not really looking to go to work with a bottle of QF in my pants daily. Since I will have to leave work to get tested, I should have access to my purse and the QF. Any stories, advice, experiences would be great. Also, curious as to if anyone has been caught subbing and what happened when you got caught? thanks

I've always carried QF with me for randoms. Mine were always done at a lab so all I had to do was swing by a store and nuke the QF and stick it in my shorts. If they're done at work a good way is to buy one of those bog coffee cups and put the QF bottle in it and either nuke it or just pour hot coffe in it and give it a couple minutes to heat up. Practice and a plan.

thanks Killerweed420!!! I had my first day of work and was speaking to another new employee. Very innocent, nice woman, def. not a smoker BUT I believe protocol may have been violated at this collection facility. I wrote in another post that my recuiter was telling me to drink LOTS of water, sounding like they wanted a really big sample. When I went the girl told me just to go above the temp strip, she didin't need anymore than that, but when this woman went, they got out the same giant specimen cup and marked a line on it and she said "OMG, I'll never be able to go that much" They told her to sit down and drink water. She drank so much she was able to give her sample, but she also threw up from too much water.
Anyway, long story short, I have been reading guidelines(mostly DOT) and it sounds like even for a split specimen they only need 2oz. What would you do in a situation where you know they are violating protocol? Especially if your sample is on temp and everything... Would you call them out on it? Just trying to be prepared for what could happen to me. Thinking about finding a 4 oz. bottle and combining two bottles of QF, but I am a tiny person and not sure I could conceal a container that large on my body. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated

You can certainly file a compalint about them violating protocol but it will probably mean the lose of your job. An employer can fire you for any reason or no reason at all.
QF does come in a 3 ounce bottle if you want to have the extra. 2 ounces is all thats required by law. But I've been in the same situation before. I just used a little of my heavily dilluted urine to top the cup off.

that is what i was thinking of doing. maybe having some b2 and aspirin on hand and diluting beforehand and then using mid-stream to mix with QF. still worried tho b/c I am a daily smoker and the testing facility is only 1/2 mile away. I would not have a lot of time beforehand to dilute. I may just have to cut back on the smoking until I figure out more about the random policy. There are dot and non-dot jobs and the policy kind of sounds like only dot employees will be randomed, but it doesn't completely clarify. thanks again for the advice:rastasmoke:

y'all are lucky...:thumbsup:..my place does random UA's about every 3 months. The testers come from the clinic at 6:15am and nail the midnight and day shift at 6:30-6:45am

I don't know how they make the selection?...but, in the past two years..it seems to be based on a person's absentee record.

Mine is perfect....:smokin:...never selected in 2 years...and it's a small place.
I assume the selection method is computer generated?...or whatever, to stand up to court challenge?

I think maybe the insurance companies give them a program?..just guessing..:wtf:
