Lights turned on by accident and left on for who knows how long

I'm in 12/12 and run them at night for cheaper power, I came home from fishing to see my lights on and the timer set from auto to on. My wife might have bumped it, do I leave the lights off untill tomorrow or run them as usual.
Thanks in advance for a quick answer/opinion.

Question would be,.. How long into flower are you?

I'd think that getting a plant to go out of flower is harder then getting it into flower. If your early on, might not be a big deal. If your later in it might cost you some yield but should be ok.

Beings that the 12 off, just allows the hormones that cause a plant to flower to build up. Even a couple days without doesn't make them dry up and fall off. It just doesn't put all of it's energy into the flowers until that hormone builds up again.

Although just an educated guess. More info on how far along you are, and what kind of light are you using might help too.

if you turn the lights back on for their normal schedule they'll definitely hermie. how many days into flower are they? Make sure they get a full 12 hours of darkness. The advice I was given, 1 week into flowering, was to keep them in darkness for 24 hours. Just make sure they at least get 12 hours of darkness.

They are getting near done, at least the ATF is.
I let the lights go on at the normal cycle and will keep an eye out for balls.

yeah I don't know if they'll hermie for sure, but I think you should have given them a 12hr dark cycle after the lights went past 12hrs. Hope it works out for you.

Yea if they are near done I'd just watch for them nanners. Although if your really close they wouldn't have time to really start any seed production before you cut.

Only downfall other then the possible balls, would be, many strains put on a lot of weight that last week or so. Like I said before, 12 hours of dark lets that hormone build up to produce more flowers. Photosynthesis chews up that hormone. So if you had a couple days of lights on. That hormone level, required for flower production, may have dropped to near none. Thus reducing yield.

i had this happen to me once...tripped my timer from auto to on and it was like that for a week going 24/7...couldn't figure out why my buds weren't developing and then i noticed the timer and just sent everthing back to regular schedule...nothing you can really do but watch and see what happens...luckily i had some very stable strains and nothing happened but lost a week of production!

I found some balls, thanks to all that suggested a good once over to check things for hermies. I found balls dingling from lower shaded branches.
On the up side if I get any seeds I'll plant them this summer and report. ATF and Sour Diesel cross sounds fun and tasty.

Keep in mind, that any seeds on the hermi'd plant will likely hermi themselves.

HOWEVER, any seeds on another plant, fertilized BY your hermi, will be feminized seeds.

Also, when a plant starts to make seeds. The bud production energy is put toward the seeds, not into more buds.

i would never plant a seed that comes from a herm...you have hermed genetics and only have the chance of srpeading more herm pollen...you're better off feeding them to the birds...it is a waste of time in futility....i learned to grow from a breeder and he could explain technically why and he always told me to throw them away....once a herm always a herm!:hippy:

by the way my friend was a chemical engineer and worked for General Hydroponics and helped create some of their nutes so i tend to beleive those with higher education and a good resume!
