Making Green Dragon

Hi all,

This is my first try at making Green Dragon. Lots of mixed info out there.

I combined about 6 grams of nice dank bud with about 6 oz 190 proof everclear. I'm going to let it sit for 2 weeks before I try it.

First I'll just take some under the tongue. Then I'll try it in a hot drink. Finally, if those don't really work, I'll try the hot-bath decarboxylation method I've read about.

Anyone try this before? What do you think the effective dose will be? I'm hoping for something strong, where I only have to take a few drops. Everclear is nasty.

Im about to do the same thing. How convenient it would be to carry a little bit around. No smell, totally controllable and fast. keep us up to date on how it turns out. It would be great to get someones experienced opinion.

Sounds interesting. I don't know if I would want to try that though. All at the same time I don't think though. So, if you want to go for it, just be careful. hehehehe. I used to be so adventurous when I was younger, but now I just stick to the same ole same ole. BTW: Welcome to the forum! :yippee:

please don't take this the wrong way....but why would you put weed in alcohol? I like the booze here and there too...but those items should be seperate! Especially Everclear! yuck!

Also, I'm not sure if it will even do anything but soak the weed in alcohol. When cooking with cannabis, it's the heat process that brings out the thc in the product.

I'm not going to say it WONT work, but more than likely you will feel the effects of the alcohol before you feel any thc in your body....especially with that shit! Thats some strong booze! Next time, just make some cannabutter or oil....you will get better use out of your weed. You might have just wasted 6 good grams a weed and that's a damn shame man!

reading more, Ive seen others talk about everclear for a tincture....that is not my area of expertise...my bad! :jointsmile: I'll bow out gracefully....but let us know if it works...now i have to know!

I actually found that page when doing my research. They say .5 gram per oz, and I used double that. So hopefully this'll work.

The research is all over the place on this. I couldn't find any consensus. Heat it, don't heat it, more booze, less booze... finally I decided I'd just have to try it.

I just put an 1/8 of good Bud in a glass jar of 151 ever-clear I think I need to wait four days. It turned green pretty fast. I tried an eye dropper full under the tongue last night...nothing happened.

You are on the right track. Your alcohol to weed ratio seems a bit high, particularly for sublingual (under the tongue) application. 190 burns like hell so you want the strongest thc % possible. The Master Wu method calls for a ratio of 1.75grams per oz of alcohol, then cooking it down to 1 oz of alcohol, that is 3.5 grams per oz. A few drops will kick your butt.
But all is not lost, the sit and wait method works, you just have to be willing to sit and wait.
Sample at 2 weeks, maybe a 1/3-1/2 oz on an empty stomach, mixed with a short glass of OJ or soda, and see what you think
Remember this is very concentrated and your tolerance will go up quickly, so if you use it more than about once per week the results will diminish. For me even if I up the dose the cerebral aspects just are not the same if I don't wait a week or so between doses.
The first time out leave the weed in the bottle/jar and let the weed soak longer, worst think that can happen is that it will get stronger.
Be warned that some people get worried they haven't taken enough and up the dosage too soon and get anxious, just ride it out, your heart or head won't explode and it will all be better in the morning.
Smoking about 1-1.5 hrs after ingesting can really compliment your cocktail. But wait at least this long to appreciate the tincture only buzz.
My preferred routine is to ingest the tincture, stay busy for about 30 minutes, and then sit back in a calmer activity and wait for it to kick in. usually takes 1.5-2 hours to reach maximum intensity. Makes for a great wake and bake.

After a month you can concentrate your liquid with a water bath or strain it and pour it in a container without a lid and let it evaporate. A pyrex measuring cup works well, the marked gradutions will let you measure how much evaporation has occurred and when you get brave enough to try the Master Wu technique, the pyrex makes a great cooking vessel. About $5 at your local grocery.

The Master Wu method has never failed me when I followed every step, but I have had less than desirable results when I took shortcuts.

I think if you started about 1.5 grams soaking in an oz every month you could have a nice dose every weekend on a continual basis.

ky, very good post! As soon as you gave me the ratio I measured what I have. I have 12 oz of ever clear 151 proof ( i couldn't get 190 proof) and 3.5 grams of quality bud. It killed me to put that much in. I don't grow it so I had to buy this at a dispensary. So it does not come cheap for me.
I think putting it in a Pyrex measuring cup and letting it evaporate is a great idea. I'm am going to let it set for the two weeks. I hope I haven't wasted the weed.
